Elhaym Van Houten, nicknamed Elly, is a young skilled officer of Solaris Military, Gebler. She leads a group of Gebler Special Forces, often bent on special operations. She graduated the Solarian school Jugend, earning a place among the Elements. As an Element, she is specialized in the use of combat rods, and can wield elemental ethers including Fire, Water, Wind, and Earth. She also happens to be an Antitype, and like Fei, she continues to reincarnate throughout the centuries, with the role as Fei's life companion. She was created by the Wave Existence out of Abel's need for a mother. Elly was born to a Solarian high-ranking officer, Erich, and his wife Medena. She met Fei while she was hiding in the Blackmoon Forest. At first, they were at odds, but after getting saved by Fei numerous of times, she later on becomes a part of Fei's group and an important person to Fei.

Elly works only as a support member to the party. She appears to be the second weakest character in terms of power and her terrible speed doesn't quiet make up for that as well, but her elemental ether attacks could come in handy despite the fact that early in the game, her ether attacks often fails, and it ranks only second to Emeralda's. She possesses 4 different Elemental attacks including Wind, Fire, Water, and Earth. As she progresses, she learns additional area-type elemental attacks of each element then later on, she learns all-enemies type elemental attacks. Elly is the only character that needs to learn her own ether spells, the proficiency rate goes up as she levels up. Elly is most helpful with the Ether attacks, but once Emeralda joins your party, she becomes almost useless though she could be an excellent cheering squad. Her rods when imbued with special effects could come useful, needless to say, as the rods get better, she also gets a good boost for her attack power and allows her to compensate for her weak blows. Elly departs from your party early in the game and is yet destined to leave your party for good later in the game and right after the Merkava scene.

Attacks

There are different combinations to Elly's attack, with the Triangle often referring to the rod, the Square button to kicks and with the X to a combination of rod and a kick.

Death Blows

Elly has 11 deathblows overall. 7 are standard deathblows and 4 of them are ether-imbued. Elly also has one funny deathblow special that allows her to summon moles. (See Deathblow table for more info.)
